And different form of heterogeneity to sustain ecosystem services
Sebastien is a Researcher at CNRS, MARBEC lab, and the University of Montpellier. His research focusses on functional ecology.
nWithin the project he will help with gathering existing biodiversity data from the selected case studies. Then he will compute complementary diversity indices assessing the range of taxa, functional attributes and phylogenetic lineages of organisms. Eventually, he will also analyse how these facets of biodiversity determine the amount of ecosystem services provided to human populations.

Nicolas Loiseau
Co investigator
Nicolas is a community ecologist interested in the biodiversity of marine communities.nHis long-term research goal is to bring together innovative field-survey tools and computing methods in order tonuncover the extent of marine diversity. His approach is eclectic, ranging from global biogeography to functionalnecology.
He will mostly contribute to marine coastal ecosystemsnbiodiversity, functions and servicesnin a changing environment

Raphael Seguin
Co-Investigator
Raphael is Assistant Engineer at the University of Montpellier. His research interests include coral reef conservation and functional ecology, socio-ecological systems and science communication.
Within the project, he is organizing and participating in field missions, especially eDNA sampling, and participating in data analysis. nHis hope is for MaCoBioS to have concrete repercussions on European policy.
